Same thing happens on my galaxy s6. After driving, I close all apps. But spotify keeps playing even though there are no open apps (according to android). Tried starting spotify to pause it. Opening spotify takes al long time and then crashes. I've send some crash reports but the problem still exists. Set the app to Offline Mode. Note: In Offline Mode, you can only play music you’ve downloaded. For Mac: In the Apple menu at the top of the screen, click Spotify. For Windows: Click File in the Windows menu at the top of the screen. Select Offline Mode. On desktop, import your local files (with the 'Desktop' steps). Add the files to a new playlist. Log in on your mobile or tablet using the same WiFi as your desktop. Videos play one after the other automatically. How do I turn this off? How do I share videos to Facebook? How do I remove saved videos from my playlist? How do I watch saved videos? How do I save videos? Can I use my Kinect® sensor with the Fox News app? Can I view Fox News videos while not connected to the internet?
You see, even after you have stopped the music, if you initiate any app which uses audio, that restarts the music. I have found that if you are using Maps or something it stays quiet, but if you were to start to talk to Siri it will then start the Music app once it finished with Siri. To count a song as 'one play' or 'one stream' a song has to be listened to for 30 seconds or more. When you restart a song, it will count as a play as long as 30 seconds are listened to. Skipping the last 5 seconds of a song does not hurt the artist. Offline listens are counted and sent to Spotify's server the next time you connect to the Internet.

Spotify Sleep Timer on Android
In the meantime, Spotify has integrated the function into the Android app. The detour via additional apps like Sleep Timer (music off) is no longer necessary. However, here you will find other practical functions such as extending the sleep time by shaking the device.
● Open Spotify and start the desired song.
● Tap the button with the three dots in the upper right corner.
● Scroll down and you will find the option 'Sleeptimer'.
● You can then select the desired time period.
● You can stop playback after the selected time or after the current song.
● Spotify will then automatically stop playback at the desired time.
Spotify Sleep Timer on iOS
On the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you don't need an additional application. Apple has already integrated a Sleep Timer, but it is a bit hidden:
● First open the 'Clock' app.
● Switch to the 'Timer' category below.
● Tap on 'Timer end' in the middle.
● Activate the 'Stop playback' option at the bottom.
● Tap on 'Set' in the upper right corner.
Spotify Player App
● Now select the desired time and tap the 'Start' button.
● As soon as the timer has expired, the music in Spotify is stopped.
Spotify Sleep Timer on Windows
There is also no timer function integrated in the Spotify software for Windows. But here, too, there are several possibilities.
● The easiest way to do this is with an additional program. SleepTimer Ultimate simply shuts down your computer after the desired time.
Download The Spotify App
● Alternatively, you can do without software and give Windows the command itself.
